Tribute to Dr. Mary Arseneau

I am deeply saddened by the sudden passing of one of my graduate school advisers. Dr. Mary Arseneay was a wonderful, devoted, and encouraging mentor, without whom my work on Christina Rossetti wouldn’t have been possible. Her genuine presence and immense literary knowledge allowed me to dive deep into Rossetti scholarship and produce an interdisciplinary work addressing poetic analysis in musicological research. I was blessed to be able to include my love of Victorian literature in my academic work under the guidance of Dr. Arseneau. After our work together, she took the time to come to my recital and would regularly write to me with messages of kindness and support.

Below is one of my recordings that includes a famous Rossetti poem we both admired. I’d like to dedicate this to the memory of Dr. Arseneau.
