Matching Wavelengths: The National Arts Centre’s Navigation through the Covid-19 Pandemic

8 Nov, 2021

Throughout 2020-2021, Alyssa English and I had the opportunity to collaborate with and interview staff at the National Arts Centre (NAC) about the effects of COVID-19 on the institution as well as their journey to successful online initiatives. We were interested in exploring how the NAC found creative ways to meet the needs of educators, artists, and the general public during the challenging times resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Through the University of Ottawa, and as a part of InterMission: a Public Cultural Heritage Movement, we created a virtual exhibit to showcase both our research and a small part of the NAC’s story with the public. The final project is called “Matching Wavelengths: The National Arts Centre’s Navigation through the Covid-19 Pandemic”, which features commentary by staff at the NAC.
